The 1996 basketball favorite “Space Jam” is set to have a sequel, starring NBA superstar Lebron James.  The “Tune Squad” producer Ryan Coogler and James are thrilled. The beloved 90’s kids movie that starred Michael Jordan and an entire cast of Looney Tunes was iconic and a worldwide hit.

“The Space Jam collaboration is so much more than just me and the Looney Tunes getting together and doing this movie,” James said. “It’s so much bigger. I’d just love for kids to understand how empowered they can feel and how empowered they can be if they don’t just give up on their dreams. And I think Ryan did that for a lot of people.”

The NBA fans have put Jordan and James against each other multiple times, debating which ball player is better. This casting has given the fans more to disagree about, while deciding who the real “G.O.A.T” is. James plans to play the role the best he can, whereas his acting skills may not be as sharp as his skills on the court are.

Fans are excited for the iconic film to have a sequel, and cannot wait for the release.

“Lebron could completely ruin Space Jam forever, or he could out do what MJ did,” sophomore Ethan Brannies said. “There won’t be any in between. It will be either really bad or really good.”
